Student Awards Update
Clyst Vale has a number of annual awards which are kept a big surprise and announced in a whole-College assembly at the end of the Summer term. In a much smaller ceremony recently, the award winners were each presented with a smaller trophy to keep, and the satisfaction of seeing their names inscribed on the main awards.
So, congratulations to
Erin Santillo, presented with the Governors’ Citizenship Shield, awarded to the student who has done most to promote citizenship and student voice.
Kelsea Purchall, presented with the Ostler Award for Outstanding Personal Achievement, for her general sporting achievement, but especially for winning gold in the individual junior girls’ sparring competition at the Tae Kwon Do world championships.
James Murphy, presented with the Spirit of Devon Award, for the student who has made the most academic progress from Year 7 to Year 9.
Ellie Davis, presented with the Pope’s Chalice Musician of the Year Award, both in terms of performance, and also for supporting and encouraging others.
Jordan Hawkins (photo to follow), presented with the Dave Howell Caring Cup, for the student who goes ‘above and beyond’ in supporting other students and/or charity fundraising. |
