Katherine Rises to the Challenge
On Friday 7th February, Katherine Stagg (11 SEW) represented Clyst Vale at the regional heats of ‘The Big School Cake Challenge’ which were held at St Peter’s School, Exeter. Katherine had one hour to prepare and cook an ‘extravagant extraordinary creative sweet bake’ (with a total cost of no more than £5.00) which was then judged by a panel of teaching professionals from the area, including Glenn Cosby who took part in the last series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’. Twelve schools were represented, six from the Exeter Area, the remainder from Colyton, Crediton, Dawlish, Exmouth & Tiverton.
In a competition of a very high standard, Katherine did amazingly well to come runner-up and will now receive a certificate from Mary Berry at ‘The Big Cake Show’ to be held at Westpoint on Friday 28th March. Huge congratulations to her!
