Harry Patch Day Success
On 22nd September each year we hold Harry Patch Day. Harry Patch was the last survivor of the trenches of the First World War; he died in 2009 aged 111.
Once again our students did an amazing job of honouring his memory. The Post 16 students held a “dress up smart for Harry Day”; Laura Westaway and her team of bakers held a wonderful cake sale in Post 16 and Jasmine Daniels (pictured below) made a superb portrait of Mr Patch.
Students helped me with selling raffle tickets and a fantastic number of cakes and cookies were baked for our staff room cake sale.
Money is still coming in but we have raised well over £300 for the RNLI so far.
Many thanks to students and staff for all of their help in honouring the memory of this incredible man.
