Creative Writing Success at Clyst Vale

Congratulations are to be given to two Clyst Vale Students, Maddy Ross and Matthew King (pictured) who were shortlisted from hundreds of entries for a prestigious writing competition. Both students wrote a fantastic and compelling short story and their imagination was rewarded with a place in the shortlist of the final 8 young people in their age group chosen from entries throughout the whole county. The judging panel for the Arvon Totleigh Barton Short Story Competition included local acclaimed writers Michael Morpurgo, Emma Carroll and Yemisi Turner-Blake. Both Maddy and Matthew received a medal and a book as a prize and have been inspired to continue writing.
